Roma working on contract renewal for Veretout

RomaPress Staff

Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout has been one of the key pieces for Paulo Fonseca after the pair arrived in the summer of 2019.

The Frenchman has tallied 7 goals and 2 assists and has started in all but two of the Giallorossi’s league fixtures this season. The club want to ensure that the former Fiorentina man’s future remains tied to the Italian capital, which is why they have reportedly opened up contract renewals for the midfielder.

Calciomercato.it reports that Tiago Pinto, Roma’s General Director, is working on a new contract for Veretout even though his current deal doesn’t expire until June 2024 and nets him around €3 million in wages per season.

The Portuguese executive will meet in the coming days with Mario Giuffredi, the agent of the midfielder, in the hopes that the parties can find an understanding on a new contract.
