Roma working permanent Smalling move: the operation could close at €15m

John Solano

Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is hard at work to try and keep Chris Smalling at the club on a permanent basis. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that intermediaries are at work to try and find an agreement to keep the defender in the Italian capital. Reportedly, the operation could close for a figure of €12 million plus €3 million in bonuses, totaling €15 million.

Roma want to accelerate and close the operation as soon as possible with Manchester United for the English defender, who cost the Giallorossi a loan fee of €3 million this summer – taking the total potential cost for him up to nearly €18 million.
