Roma working on the renewals of Manolas, Florenzi

John Solano

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Roma continue to work on the renewals of Kostas Manolas and Alessandro Florenzi.

There have been moments of relaxation for Roma’s hierarchy, as referenced by Alex Zecca’s photo of himself, James Pallotta, Monchi, and Franco Baldini attending the NBA match between the Lakers and Celtics, however, the meeting in America still revolves 360 degrees around the Giallorossi. The President frequently invites the leaders of the club to his residence to meet about the team and this time, he wanted to discuss the club’s merits, though, he has been very pleased with the first three months of the season.

On the table are the renewals of Florenzi and Manolas, who both have expiring contracts in 2019. Monchi has been talking with the Greek defender and his agent and a meeting is set for after the World Cup qualifiers. The base of the renewal is already in place: €3 million (net) per season but the sides are still discussing duration and the amount of the release clause, which will be present. Then, it will be Florenzi’s turn, if all goes as expected, he will inherit the armband that was passed from Totti to De Rossi. He will also be handed a rich contract, which will be the most important of his career, but the economic aspect is still being discussed. However, the feeling is that there will not be a release clause in his contract.

Monchi has been given Freedom by Pallotta to deal with the contracts and the agents, so now we await the outcome.
