Dutch outlet Telegraaf have reported that Roma made an approach for Ajax boss Erik ten Hag but were met with a resounding “no”. The Dutch side aren’t interested in losing their manager and are looking to renew his contract, however, there is another reason Ajax refused to engage with Roma in talks for ten Hag. Reportedly, Ajax were annoyed with Roma’s behavior during the Hakim Ziyech talks last summer. Then sporting director Ramon Monchi led talks for the Giallorossi, who already had an agreement in place with the midfielder and were very close to the asking price of Ajax, but then decided not to close the operation.
