Corriere dello Sport (Aliprandi) – A phone call doesn’t cost anything. Roma Primavera prospect Riccardo Calafiori has been at the center of transfer market rumors but has been waiting for a phone call from Roma: in his heart, he’s hoping to receive reassurances from the club about staying in the capital, but at a minimum, he wants clarity.
Instead the youngster’s phone, and that of his agent Mino Raiola, hasn’t rang. He is waiting on Roma, but it’s difficult to hide his disappointment.
Calafiori is Roman and Romanista: he is linked to the Giallorossi despite not having appeared with the first team when he expected to do so. Nonetheless, he stayed silent and worked under Primavera manager Alberto De Rossi and finally got noticed by Roma boss Paulo Fonseca.
It remains to be seen if Calafiori will ever appear for the first team given that he could be one of the sacrifices made on the transfer market. It’s not a mystery that top clubs are interested in him: Juventus, Inter, PSG and Manchester United are following his situation. They are ready to launch a move for the player if a contract renewal does not come soon.
