Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar was imteeviewed by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo today and admitted that he is ready to play a bigger role at Roma after having featured primarily from the bench since joining the Giallorossi in January.
Your decision to go to Roma was right.
Yes, it was important to me. When I decided to go to Roma, I spoke to the U-21 manager and told him that my transfer was now complete. He congratulated me.
How were your first months at Roma?
I felt more confident as I went through training and the matches. It is not easy to go to another country, especially in January. My best game was against Juventus, I hope to have a more important role and to raise my level in the next season.
What would you be happy with?
I have a lot of ambitions and I always want to win. I am ready to have a more important role in the team, I have to continue to commit myself in every training session and in every opportunity the manager gives me. I am ready to play many more minutes than last season.
Roma recently changed owners and is looking for a more ambitious project. What can you tell say about this?
I can’t tell you anything because the players don’t know much. They gave us peace of mind, the project continues and I hope it goes well.
