Roma’s Karsdorp before Empoli match: “We’ll have to be attentive in defence.”

Rick Karsdorp of AS Roma

Roma defender Rick Karsdorp acknowledged that a solid defensive performance will be needed tonight in their clash versus Empoli.

The Giallorossi have the chance to extend their winning streak in all competitions to three this evening against Andrea Andreazzoli’s men. However, the Dutchman stressed that they’ll have to be careful at the back.

“Of course we’ll have to be attentive tonight in defence.” he told DAZN.

“They’ve got very strong attackers, but we do, too. So we’ll just have to score more goal than they do in order to secure a victory.”

Despite their impressive attacking prowess, Empoli have struggled at the back throughout the season, sporting the fourth-worst defence in all of Serie A.

The Tuscans have conceded 43 league goals this season, with only Cagliari, Genoa, and Salernitana having done worse.
