Early on Wednesday, AS Roma’s official Instagram account released the Gialorossi’s home kit for the 2016-17 season. The shirt maintains the classic Roma feel with a few new additions, albeit with the same club crest that has caused so much controversy since the switch.
The yellow-trim collar does include a special surprise: the lettering of AS ROMA on the back.
The body of the shirt features a series of thin horizontal lines that will be divided in half by a diagonal line, the club says represents the Colosseum after its most recent restoration process.
The socks will be yellow this season with the AS Roma written just below the Nike logo.
The home shorts will be red this time around rather than white. Last seasons red shorts, which normally featured with the white away shirt, featured a yellow trim, while these will be a solid red.
Much anticipation continues to surround the release of the away kit where the much missed “lupetto” logo is expected to return.
