Roma’s Nicola Zalewski called up by Poland for Nations League

Nicola Zalewski’s outstanding season with Roma has resulted in another call up to the Poland national team.

Earlier today, manager Czesław Michniewicz included the youngster in his squad list for the team’s upcoming Nations League matches beginning in early June.

Poland will face Wales on June 1st, Belgium on June 8th, the Netherlands on June 11th before a second showdown against the Belgians on June 14th in Warsaw.

The 20 year-old emerged as one of the biggest surprises not only for Roma but in all of Serie A this season. Unexpectedly, Roma manager José Mourinho began to slowly integrate Zalewski into the team starting in November.

Once Mourinho switched to a three-man defence in February, the youngster developed into one of the Giallorossi’s most consistent performers while deployed at left wing back.
