Roma executive Tiago Pinto refused to discuss the contractual situations of several players ahead of the capital club’s showdown against Atalanta.
The Portuguese executive preferred to focus on tonight’s pivotal showdown against La Dea—a match with massive top-four implications.
“I’ve been here in Rome for fourteen months and I’m always happy to come speak with you (the media) to clarify some things,” began Pinto to DAZN.
“But you guys always ask me the same questions so I’m going to give the same answer. Right now isn’t the time to discuss contract renewals. We have to focus on the pitch and our results.”
He also commented on the situation involving Benfica goalkeeper Mile Svilar, who is reportedly closing in on a move to Roma.
“We have awhile until the transfer market reopens. He’s a Benfica player so obviously I know him well, Mourinho also knows him well because he made his Champions League debut against him when he was at United.”
“But tonight is a really important match for us, that’s where our focus needs to be.”
