The Mayor of the city of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, recently discussed the current timeline for construction of Roma’s long-waited stadium to begin.
In an interview with Mattino 5, Gualtieri – who is working closely with representatives of the club – said: “The goal is for the stadium to be ready by 2027, the year of Roma’s centenary.”
“We are abiding by the established timeline,” he added. “After the approval of the public interest by the Capitoline Assembly, we are now at the stage where the final project can be green-lit.”
“Construction work could begin at the end of 2024. We are respecting the schedule and the club is working on it non-stop.”
