Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri discusses Roma’s stadium project

The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, discussed at length the prospect of the new stadium project which Roma recently unveiled at the Campidoglio. The hope is for construction to begin as soon as possible and finish ahead of the grand opening in 2027.

“It’s a huge project for everyone involved: for Roma, their fans, for the city and I want to also say for all of Italy,” Gualtieri told Il Tempo.

“We’re holding continuous meetings and discussions with the club. They have presented us the feasibility study of the technical and business side of the project. Now, the law states that the project must be reviewed by regional services.”

“The project is very much in tune with the theme of environmental sustainability and entails several green spaces. It can have a very positive impact on the city of Rome.”
