Romelu Lukaku is unlikely to extend his stay in the Italian capital.

With only a few more weeks left, the Belgian striker intends to go out on a high note as his loan spell at Roma draws to a close.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the chances of seeing Roma meet Chelsea’s demands and make Lukaku’s transfer permanent are slim to none.

The newspaper states that Chelsea do not intend to budge from their initially estimated fee of €43 million.

Roma, on the other hand, are making important considerations with regards to Lukaku’s age and salary – which would not be subject to Growth Decree anymore – and the fact that Tammy Abraham has fully recovered and will be ready to return to the team’s starting formation ahead of next season.

As a result, Roma are said to be looking for younger, more economically favorable options with a better fit for the club’s long-term plans.

Lukaku – who so far has registered 18 goals and 4 assists for the Giallorossi – will make his return to Stamford Bridge, awaiting his next destination for next season.
