Romelu Lukaku is said to be intent on extending his stay in the Italian capital.

As the season winds to an end, Lukaku is in fact nearing the end of his loan spell with the Giallorossi.

Following an intense season that saw him join the ranks of former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and in the end will see him complete the campaign with Daniele De Rossi at the helm, Lukaku has reportedly grown fond of life at Roma.

As reported by today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku continues to hope for a future at the Italian club.

The newspaper claims that Lukaku is pleased with his spell in the capital and will do anything it takes to guarantee an extended stay from Chelsea.

Roma, on the other hand, could only hope to formulate another loan proposal for the Belgian striker.

The Giallorossi are unlikely to meet Chelsea’s original price tag for him as they face FFP-related constraints in the summer.

In addition, Lukaku’s salary would not be covered by the Italian Growth Decree next season, making negotiations for a new loan deal all the more difficult.
