The father of Romelu Lukaku scrutinized his son’s decision to join Roma.
After a turbulent summer that saw Lukaku be linked with various destinations including Inter and Juventus, the Belgian striker finally settled in Roma.
In a recent interview with La Derniere Heure, Roger Lukaku – the player’s father – commented on his son’s transfer.
“He made the right choice by going to Roma. I would have gone to Saudi Arabia, he had to go to Al Hilal. How much would he have earned? €45 million a year? And he would have signed a contract for three years? He would have had to talk to [Belgium coach Domenico] Tedesco to see if he could keep his place in the national team.”
“Romelu has two children. He is already 30 years old. At some point you have to think about yourself. But he wanted to stay in Europe.”
