Rome’s Mayor Roberto Gualtieri optimistic about Roma’s stadium construction

Andy Mattioli

The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, once again reaffirmed his optimistic stance with regards to the construction of Roma’s highly anticipated new stadium.

With the set date of completion being 2027, Gualtieri addressed questions and concerns in a recent interview with Rete Oro.

“We are moving at an incredibly fast rate with the stadium,” Gualtieri said. “It’s a grotesque affair, which dragged on through the years but the club was serious about this initiative.”

“They presented us with a proposal on Pietralata. Now, the local city council will respond with some prescriptions which Roma will have to accept and integrate in the project, and then the new services conference will start.”

“The goal is to have the stadium up and running by 2027. We are moving forward very quickly, arousing the envy of many other cities in Italy for a stadium that brings forth lots of parks and green areas. An architectural jewel.”
