Rugani emerging as the favorite to land in Rome

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is emerging as the favorite to become the next central defender reinforcement at Roma. Corriere della Sera reports that after having missed out on Toby Alderweireld, Petrachi wants to bring the Juventus defender to the Eternal City. It’s been made clear to Rugani he isn’t a first choice name under Maurizio Sarri – which is why he’s slowly opening to the possibility of departing from Turin. Roma are now pondering the option of bringing the player to the capital on loan with an obligation to buy worth €25 million. The Giallorossi also held talks for Dejan Lovren but were put off by Liverpool’s asking price as well as the Croatian’s struggles from last season.
