Rui nears return

Il Corriere dello Sport: Here comes Mario Rui…again. The Portuguese left-back has been training with the Primavera since last week and continues to make progress. For Saturday, 26 November, he is scheduled to debut in an official game for De Rossi’s Primavera side. It will be the first step towards the return into Spalletti’s side, who agreed on Wednesday with De Rossi regarding the usage of the defender. If he ends up following the same path of Rüdiger, who returned with the Primavera for one match and then was called to the first team, he could be called for the Derby on 4 December. The full-back, who had surgery on his torn ACL on 1 August, is speeding up the recovery time.

The defender, who was wanted by Spalletti all summer, is fired up: so much so that Roma’s training staff had to restrain him and have him ease up: he can not wait to return, he has worked hard in recent months and feels ready to finally start his adventure in red and yellow. Spalletti is waiting and expecting him too: Mario Rui is the left-back hand-picked by the Mister after the forced renunciation of Digne. The operation for Rudi will cost a total of €9 million for Roma, not a meager sum, and the club is ready to finally see him on the field.
