Roma goal-keeper Rui Patricio recently spoke to UEFA about his time working with José Mourinho as well as the preparations leading up to the Conference League final.
“Feyenoord are a strong, well-organised side. Great players who can definitely make a difference.”
“When we prepare the game, we will study those players and their strengths, but also the weaknesses trying to figure out how to exploit them. It will be a great ending to the season.”
“We know we face a great team, so we’ll do everything we can to win. We have to work hard, as we do every day, in order to be at our best.”
“Do I still maintain that José Mourinho is the greatest manager in the world? My opinion goes further than that.”
“It’s been an extraordinary year in which we learned a lot. It was fantastic to work with Mourinho: all we do and fight for is to win and that’s why we managed to get to the final.”
“It’s my first European final with a club. I’m very happy and I want to keep learning from him.”
“I was his first signing, but when I arrived I knew what I would do and also how, that is, give my best as in all the clubs where I played. I’ll never change, I’ll continue to work as much as possible and give everything for the team.”
“Reaching a European final is every player’s dream, but next year we will have to fight for other trophies. We are at the highest level, in a club that has all the conditions to win titles: this must be our purpose, day after day.”
