Rui Patricio is set to officially become a free agent at the end of the month.
The Portuguese goal-keeper will run out of his contract with Roma.
Despite holding out hope, the veteran shot-stopper will not have his deal renewed with the club, reports Corriere dello Sport.
Patricio had hoped to be able to stay on a second-choice goalkeeper behind Mile Svilar.
His relationship with Svilar – that of a mentor – had caused Roma to consider the option of extending Patricio’s deal.
However, the newspaper reports that ultimately the club decided against it.
Patricio will officially no longer be a Roma player after June 30th, having joined the capital club in 2021.
