Rui Patricio wants to convince Roma

Portuguese goal-keeper Rui Patricio is intent on convincing Roma to bet on him long-term amid rumours of the club seeking replacements in the summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Patricio’s recent improvement in form – providing crucial saves in Europa League and Serie A – could grant him the possibility to stay beyond this season.

Despite his contract set to expire in 2024, Patricio was repeatedly linked with an exit from the club at the end of the season with Roma wanting to replace him with the likes of Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario or Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.

However, the remainder of the season will be a good opportunity for Patricio to convince Roma to extend his contract for an additional year and provide a much needed veteran status to the rest of the team.
