Current Bologna technical director Walter Sabatini ruled out a return to Roma this afternoon — the club where he spent five years and a place where he remains an extremely popular.

The 65 year-old ruled out the possibility of a reunion with the Giallorossi despite new ownership officially arriving in the coming days at the club under Dan Friedkin.

In a note he published on calciomercato.it, Sabatini admitted he still loves the club but intends to see out his work with the Rossoblù.

“I‘ve read so many things in the newspapers in the last few days — rumors that have linked me to the new ownership group at Roma, to whom I wish the best of luck,” he explained.

“Although I still love the Roman environment and the supporters, I am fully committed to the project that I have been carrying out for over a year as the technical director of Bologna and the Montreal Impact”.

“I do not intend to shift my attention from here. I have a deep sense of loyalty and respect for Joey Saputo, the best of presidents,” he concluded.
