Salernitana attempt to sign Santon

Davide Santon has been excluded from Roma’s plans ever since the 20/21 campaign came to an end and with Mourinho’s appointment the Italian full-back has been demoted to individual training sessions at Trigoria for the past few months.

General Manager Tiago Pinto has been at work in order to find a suitable destination for the 30-year-old, with even rumors of a possible contract termination that would help part ways between club and player.

However, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà reports that Salernitana, led by former sporting director Walter Sabatini, have recently approached Santon and made a concrete attempt to sign him until the end of the season.

Santon has reportedly asked for time to reflect on the offer, which indicates that the full-back is taking it into consideration. It remains to be seen whether there will be enough time to close the deal before the end of the January window.
