Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini – currently on his way down to Serie B with his new side Salernitana – was not too happy with Federico Fazio’s performances as of late.
Fazio, who joined Salernitana as a free agent in January from Roma, was handed a red card in last weekend’s fixture vs Torino.
The former Giallorossi defender will therefore miss the upcoming clash with his old side.
Sabatini was very critical of the 34-year-old in an interview with Telecore.
“I never imagined that Fazio could commit such ridiculous mistakes, some of which he’d never done in all of his years at Roma,” said the experienced sporting director.
“I just didn’t expect Federico to make such mistakes.”
“He’s still a reliable player, and I’m sure the coach will not hesitate to use him again in the starting eleven because he’s very important to the dressing room,” he concluded.
