Salernitana President Danilo Iervolino addressed the recent rumors of his side potentially showing interest in Roma striker Andrea Belotti.

The team from Salerno are fighting to avoid relegation with former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini at the helm.

In recent weeks, Salernitana had been said to have show interest in Belotti – the ex-Torino man is struggling for playing time under Jose Mourinho and has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors.

In an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Iervolino addressed these rumors.

“With extreme transparency I say that we have made no contact with Belotti’s agents. We are very strong admirers of Belotti,” said Iervolino.

“For me he is the strongest striker in Italy together with Immobile, but there has never been anything concrete. I reiterate that we must first sell some players before securing more signings.”
