Salzburg defender Oumar Solet spoke about the possibility of moving on from the Austrian side in January.
Having been previously linked with a transfer to Roma due to the capital club’s long-standing interest in him, Solet discussed the possibility of this happening in a recent interview with Goal.com.
“I need to take a step forward and grow as a footballer,” said the 23-year-old centreback. “With the qualities and ambitions I have, I think it’s the right time for the next step, which means moving to one of the major leagues and starting to play big challenges every week.”
“I am more mature, I have more experience, both in the league and in the Champions League. Every day I work to be a better player and for this reason I decided to rely on a nutritionist, a personal trainer and a digital communication team.”
On Roma, Solet remarked, “I’m good friends with Rasmus Kristensen. He is a good right-back and is doing great things at Roma. I really wish him the best. José Mourinho can really be of great help for the growth of younger players. He’s someone you really want to fight for. With a coach like that you can only improve.”
