Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero was back to discussing today the future of Danish starlet Mikkel Damsgaard.
Just yesterday, Ferrero declared that he would like to see the 21 year-old join Roma when the time comes for him to leave Samp.
“If they call me we can find a way to make it happen. Xhaka isn’t going to Roma so they need a midfielder,” he stated to Corriere dello Sport.
“I want him to go to Roma, I’m a Romanista and Damsgaard would be a great signing.”
He followed up with additional statements this afternoon when asked how the club will approach Damsgaard’s future.
“Why shouldn’t I keep him?” he said to Il Secolo XIX.
“Let me repeat: if a super offer for Damsgaard arrives, then we’ll evaluate it like everyone would. But I’m certainly not going to give him away.
“When we go to buy a player, they try and take us for every euro. That’s why I get annoyed when it’s said that I over-exaggerate the asking prices for my players. Sampdoria isn’t a discount.”
