Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo spoke ahead of tomorrow’s weekend fixture against Roma at the Marassi Stadium.
“The win at Venezia brought us three important points that allow us to pursue our objective,” said Giampaolo who replaced former Samp coach D’Aversa in January.
“The international break inevitably brings along a waste of physical and mental energy: travel, match commitments, there are those who have obtained the qualification for the World Cup and those who got left out. Now all focus must be back on Sampdoria.”
When asked about Roma’s unbeaten run in the league, Giampaolo commented, “For several weeks now, Roma have found the right pace.”
“We will face them at their best moment: we know that we will face a very strong opponent. The match will be very difficult but winning would be important to give continuity to our results.”
