Sampdoria sporting director Daniele Faggiano was asked to comment on the recent rumors of his side’s interest in out-of-favor Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar who recently made his return from an unsuccessful loan spell at Getafe.
Faggiano spoke right after the official inauguration of the opening of the summer transfer window in Rimini.
“I can confirm that we are interested in Villar,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “We even wanted him in January.”
“I’ve always liked him very much,” Faggiano added. “But right now it’s not an easy deal.”
