Sampdoria join race for Amadou Diawara

Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara has been subject to several transfer rumors linking him with an exit from the Italian capital in this January window.

According to reports, the 24-year-old was pursued by Valencia who identified him as a suitable replacement for Daniel Wass. However, no concrete offer was made aside from a hypothetical dry loan.

Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Sampdoria have joined the race for the out-of-favor Roma midfielder. The Blucerchiati consider him a valid alternative to Stefano Sensi whom Inter are currently reluctant in letting go.

Sampdoria are reportedly willing to wait another few days before commencing negotiations for Diawara with the capital club as they await a response from Sensi’s entourage and the Inter board.
