Sampdoria remain interested in Fazio, eye January move

Roma defender Federico Fazio could depart the club once the transfer window opens in the coming weeks.

Calciomercato.com has reported that Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri wants to bring an experienced defender to his side when the transfer market reopens next month — and his eye is on the Argentine, who joined Roma in 2016.

Fazio has yet to make a league appearance this season for the Giallorossi — though, he has been used three times in the Europa League by manager Paulo Fonseca.

Roma tried very hard to offload Fazio during the summer transfer window because of his large wages — but were unsuccessful in their attempts.
