Sampdoria are reportedly looking for a replacement for midfielder Adrien Silva who recently terminated his contract with the club.
As a result, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport reports that Sampdoria have inquired about Villar and placed him among a list of candidates for the position.
The Spaniard, now out-of-favor at Roma and with one foot outside the capital club, would be interested in joining a side such as Sampdoria where he could play starting minutes.
