Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini was delighted with his side’s 1-1 draw in the Italian capital this evening versus Roma.

The Italian’s late strike in the 80th minute, his fifth goal in the past five matches, secured a point for the Ligurian side and held the Giallorossi at home.

“The most important thing was getting the draw,” the attacker said to DAZN.

“We did well in the first half, perhaps less so in the second. We wanted to get a point and thankfully we managed to do it. The strength that the team has managed to show after a tough stretch is a really positive thing.”

“The chaos tends to lessen when you start getting positive results, plus the dressing room becomes calmer. If you look at the league table, we’re in a much better situation now versus last month.”
