Roma have reportedly made Samu Omorodion their top target to replace Romelu Lukaku.

With Big Rom set to make his return to Chelsea, Roma have turned to the young Atletico Madrid striker as Lukaku’s potential successor.

The latest report by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport suggests Omorodion is now in pole position to land a move to the Italian capital. According to Di Marzio, Roma launched talks with Omorodion’s entourage in recent days.

The 20-year-old has just concluded his loan at Alaves with 9 goals to his name and is now back in Madrid, waiting to find out what his parent club will decide to do with him.

For the moment, Omorodion has yet to give Roma his full approval: the player wants to understand his role at the club. The Giallorossi management insist on the Spanish striker because he is young and in line with the technical project.

Omorodion’s estimated cost is reportedly around €40 million, though Napoli are also said to be very keen on him.
