Davide Santon is nearing free agency after three years in the Italian capital and may have fallen on Salernitana’s radar, reports Il Mattino.
Santon’s contract with the Giallorossi is set to expire on June 30th and is looking around for options on the market after having spent the last year outside of Jose Mourinho’s first team – Santon was excluded along with Federico Fazio from group training in last year’s preseason.
Despite earlier rumors of potential retirement on the part of the former Inter fullback, Il Mattino reports that Salernitana continue to be interested in Santon – the 31-year-old was rumored to have rejected their approach earlier in January.
For lack of better options, Santon could decide to stay in Italy, with a chance to continue playing in Serie A next season.
