Newly appointed Santos manager Diego Aguirre spoke about Roma target Marcos Leonardo.
During today’s introductory press conference, Aguirre shared his views on Leonardo’s future as the attacker continues to push to complete a move to Roma.
According to Aguirre, however, the move should not take place as Santos need their best player in their fight to avoid relegation.
“I really need him. No one questions that he is a star and I would love him to stay with us. I understand his situation, I will try to help him score many goals so that he can be sold for €30 million.”
“I don’t think it’s possible for Marcos Leonardo to leave right now. There is no replacement for him. He is the best or one of the best players in the team. So I don’t think about it. I understand the situation, I was also a player and I know certain things. But the situation is difficult.”
