Roma are still interested in Santos attacker Marcos Leonardo after talks broke down in the summer.
Despite the Giallorossi had failed to find an agreement in August for the 20-year-old talent, the club continued to be linked with him ahead of the January window.
Roma are said to have had a preliminary agreement with Leonardo’s entourage for a January transfer followed by a brief loan to a smaller Serie A team for the remainder of the season.
However, Il Tempo reports that Roma haven’t made any concrete steps forward in their negotiations with Santos.
The Brazilian side are reportedly continuously raising their asking price given Leonardo’s recent performances – 21 goals in 42 games for the young winger.
At the moment, Roma cannot afford Leonardo’s current price-tag due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
