The future of young attacker Marcos Leonardo is to be determined in the coming days.

The 20-year-old forward is pushing to join Roma from Santos on a permanent deal after agreeing to a long-term contract with the Giallorossi earlier this month.

Negotiations between Roma and Santos have proven to be difficult due to the issues that arose in the Brazilian side’s top management over the last few days including sporting coordinator Paulo Roberto Falcao filing his resignation over sexual harassment allegations.

In an interview with De Olho No Peixe, Santos president Andres Rueda was asked about Marcos Leonardo.

“We are still holding discussions inside the club about the future of Marcos Leonardo. We cannot afford to lose two attackers in this window,” Rueda said, referring to 18-year-old attacker Deivid Washington who is also in talks to join Chelsea.
