Brazilian side Santos are looking to offload Marcos Leonardo as they now face relegation for the first time in the club’s history.
A few days ago, Santos were relegated after losing 2-1 to Fortaleza in added time.
Now, UOL reports that Santos – who famously rejected Roma’s proposal for Marcos Leonardo in the summer, forcing the 20-year-old to remain in Brazil – are desperately seeking buyers for Leonardo given their dire financial situation.
However, the news portal claims so far no European club has made any attempt to sign Leonardo in January.
After collecting 17 goals and 2 assists this year, Leonardo and his entourage are hoping for the situation to change quickly, enabling him to join one of Europe’s top five leagues in January.
