Sassuolo manager Alessio Dionisi expressed his dissatisfaction with the Federal Prosecutor’s decision to not suspend Jose Mourinho for his recent comments aimed at Serie A official Matteo Mercenaro and Sassuolo player Domenico Berardi.
Mourinho was recently spared a potential suspension and will be fined instead after the Federal Prosecutor reviewed footage of the Special One’s remarks and personally interrogated the Portuguese technician.
During his pre-match press conference, Dionisi reacted to this decision.
“Verdicts must be accepted, but the rules should be respected. As an Italian, not as a coach, I would like to think that, if there are responsibilities and penalties, those penalties must be applied. But I believe that this decision is the right one.”
