The transfer market closes in less than four weeks yet Roma remain incredibly active, seeking to acquire at least two more players before 1 September.
One of those is none other than Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi—a player they’ve been pursuing throughout the previous three months.
The Giallorossi already have a contract agreement in place with the midfielder and his agent, Beppe Riso, however, they still haven’t come to terms with Sassuolo regarding a transfer fee. The Neroverdi are keen to hold on to Frattesi despite his insistence on rejoining his boyhood club as soon as possible.
Sassuolo boss Alessio Dionisi echoed the club’s stance during his press conference earlier today ahead of his team’s Coppa Italia clash versus Modena.”
“At the moment, the team is what it is so we’ll start with the players at our disposal,” he lamented.
“Obviously I hope nobody leaves between now and August 31st, but should that happen then obviously that player would be replaced.”
“Though, I also wouldn’t be shocked if we acquired someone regardless if someone leaves or not. As far as my team, though, I hope everyone remains.”
