Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi after 0-0 draw against Roma: “We didn’t play well.”

Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi was interviewed by Sky Sport just after full-time following his side’s 0-0 draw against Roma in the Italian capital this afternoon.

Both sides were left frustrated as each had a goal ruled out by VAR — however, the Neroverdi played the entire second half with an extra man after Roma attacker Pedro was sent off just before half time along with manager Paulo Fonseca.

“We didn’t play well, I didn’t like the way we played in the second half,” asserted De Zerbi.

“We didn’t show enough desire to win. I’m not happy at all — I won’t give excuses but we’ve got some players out of form. If we intend to remain high up in the table, we have to look to win when we have an extra man.”

”Given the second half, you could say that they deserved the victory more.”
