Giovanni Carnevali, CEO of Sassuolo, issued statements to Sky Sport and spoke on the situation of Grégoire Defrel:
“We want to try to continue until the end of the season with our players, we do not want to deprive ourselves of our top players. This is the club’s desire, the road is long and we want to carry forward together with the guys who are here today.”
“We will wait to see Roma’s offer, when it arrives we will evaluate, but so far there isn’t one. With the Giallorossi we have a very good relationship and we will be happy to listen. Having a request from a team like them would be a great honor, but our intention is still to hold on tightly our players. It is not easy for Defrel to escape from the rumors, though, he is a professional and is giving his all in training.”
“We are convinced that if nothing happens he will continue to give his best. The door is not closed with Roma, it is only right to listen the evaluate. Teams from other countries are interested other than Roma but our intention is to continue with our players. Roma have young and attractive players which could also be evaluated.”
