Sassuolo manager Davide Ballardini previewed Sunday’s showdown with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

During today’s pre-match press conference, the newly appointed coach said he expects a difficult game primarily due to how Daniele De Rossi set up his team to compete in Serie A and Europa League.

“Roma up until now, since they changed leadership, do very well on Thursdays and Sundays,” Ballardini told reporters.

“They have a different spirit, they have great enthusiasm and quality, this is the Roma that we have seen so far on Sunday and Thursday, they have not suffered in the midweek fixtures.”

“The perfect match does not exist, for us and for anyone,” he continued. “If you make a mistake against a team that doesn’t have the depth that Roma can have, it goes by without anyone noticing, but against the big teams if you make mistakes they are underlined more and you end up paying for them. I want us to play a good match.”
