Grégoire Defrel remains in the head of Roma for a few weeks now despite the resistance of Sassuolo, who declared the player not for sale.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, it’s a position that Sassuolo, as the days pass, have changed. Now the Neroverdi are open to sale of the Frenchman. New contact has been had with Roma to verify the real proposal of the Giallorossi to ensure that shoukd the player leave, it is for an important offer, since the request of Sassuolo will be very high.
What is certain, though, is that Carnivale and the Sassuolo leadership are changing their minds about the availability of Defrel. Now they await the move of Roma, who are also taking their time to reflect. AFCON will end in roughly two weeks and Salah will soon be available.
Defrel remains a temptation, however. And now that Sassuolo are open to the sale, this could tease Roma. Should Sassuolo decide to sell, they already have an eye on their Defrel’s replacement: Alberto Paloschi. The Nerazzurri striker earns €1.6 million, significantly more than the maximum limit of €1 million set by Sassuolo and it would therefore take a major effort to bring him to the club. With an opening for Defrel, there could be movement soon.
