RomaPress – Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi has been one of the breakout players in Serie A this season, tallying 4 goals and 1 assist in eighteen appearances.
The former Roma youth product left the Italian capital in 2017 after being inserted into the deal involving striker Gregoire Defrel, who spent only one season with the Giallorossi before returning to Sassuolo in 2020.
His strong performances have led to heightened transfer speculation with Roma, Inter, and Milan all lining up to acquire the midfielder. Despite the bevy of suitors, several sources at Sassuolo insist the club has no intention of selling the midfielder next month.
However, this hasn’t dissuaded Roma in their pursuit of Frattesi—in fact, they’ve already initiated discussions with his agent, Beppe Riso, regarding a summer transfer return to the Italian capital.
Internally, Roma believe they’re in a stronger position than the Milano-based clubs to purchase the midfielder: 1) their strong relationship with his agent and; 2) the 30% sell-on clause they maintain on Frattesi.
