Sassuolo executive Giovanni Carnevali expressed his contentment with the news that Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini renewed his contract with the club.
The Roma captain spent two seasons with the Neroverdi from 2015 until 2017 after originally joining the club on a permanent deal.
He would go on to make fifty-four total appearances for the Emilian side, tallying 11 goals and 8 assists, before eventually rejoining Roma in 2017.
“Pellegrini’s renewal brings a great sense of satisfaction,” explained Carnevali to Sky Sport.
“It proves that the work we’re doing here is bringing results. Many of the guys we grew here, like Pellegrini and Locatelli, are national team players.”
He concluded, “It proves that we’re on the right track in looking to bring players like them. We’re very satisfied. The human connection developed during our time together always bind us to them.”
