Sassuolo general directors Giovanni Carnevali spoke to Premium Sport today and addressed the transfer rumors linking Domenico Berardi to Roma:
“We hope Berardi can make the same choice as last season, which is to stay at Sassuolo. We would love for him to become our ‘bandiera’, it would be nice to continue on with him. However, choices must be made by more people so we can understand what he wants to do. Roma are likely interested in him because he was one of Di Francesco’s most important players but they haven’t made an advance for him yet. Last year, there were so many offers, this year there are even more: we will evaluate them.”
“We hope he remains as well as others. Who wants to remain must marry themselves to the project of Sassuolo, but it will be up to Domenico. I hope I don’t hear from Roma anymore (laughs).”
