Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi once again recounted his failed transfer to the Italian capital in the summer of 2022 as Roma failed to meet Sassuolo’s elevated demands. Ultimately, the Giallorossi decided against a big expense which could have compromised Financial Fair Play constraints.
“Last summer, when I could have moved to Roma, the transfer didn’t materialize only because of a couple of millions. I never asked why Roma didn’t really want me, I preferred not to get into it,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I took it badly. And now I don’t think about it anymore. I don’t know where I will play in the future, but I have a different approach to my future.”
“What interests me is a concrete project with ambitious ideas. I am also following the experience of Scamacca and Raspadori and I understand that it takes time to fit into another context. Above all, you need the right mentality.”
