Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali was once again asked about Davide Frattesi’s missed transfer to Roma as negotiations between clubs never really took off due to the Neroverdi’s exceeding demands for the Italian midfielder.
The Giallorossi veered instead to Gini Wijnaldum on loan from PSG.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Carnevali admitted, “Frattesi was one of the players for whom we received several requests this past summer.”
“The main team that came forward was Roma. They approached us at the beginning of the summer window.”
“However, nothing came of it and we did not want to lose Frattesi after selling Raspadori and Scamacca,” he concluded.
